Fabio Imperiale, a young artist with a background in classical studies and a degree in advertising graphics and illustration, later pursued painting as a self-taught artist. He creates still images of faded memories and the alienation of monotonous daily life. His works depict women in intimate, enclosed poses, set against an immaterial space where vibrant, weightless figures float. Metaphors of missed journeys, such as a suitcase, a departing locomotive, or a flying airplane, reflect a sense of waiting for the moment when one truly faces the journey or oneself. These modern visions of malaise are grounded in personal intimacy and solitude, with the principle of indefiniteness serving as the only certainty in capturing the syncopated rhythm of contemporary life. The emotional component is a powerful catalyst in the connection between the artwork and the viewer, as Imperiale creates faceless, impersonal images that allow the observer to project fragments of their own experiences onto the faded scenes.
